Nice book at nice price

I bought this book in order to prepare for Oracle Certified Expert, Java Platform, EE 6 Web Services Developer. And this book certainly assisted me in accomplishing the task in less time. Worth to mention the author Martin has given lot of information on web services in less number of pages (around 330), so that we can prepare quickly.
Regarding Gevella, the price of the book is attractive as this is the cheapest price in the market. Kudos to Gevella.
Hope Gevella improves on delivery (time).

About the Authors
Olaf Kirch has a degree in Mathematics from Technische Universitaet Darmstadt. He presently works as a UNIX programmer for a company producing a CAD system. A Linux fan for a couple of years now, he is amazed at the pace its development continues to progress. For relaxation, Olaf likes painting, drawing, and reading (anything from nineteenth century poetry to detective novels and Japanese manga). He likes to spend time outdoors whenever possible. He doesn’t have a driver’s license (never had one), so he goes about most of his daily routine by bicycle. When he gets away from his keyboard for more than a few days, he likes to go mountain-walking.

Terry Dawson is an amateur radio operator and long time Linux enthusiast. He is the author of a number of network related HOWTO documents for the Linux Documentation Project, co-author the 2nd edition of O’Reilly’s Linux Network Administrators Guide and is an active participant in a number of other Linux projects. Terry has 15 years professional experience in telecommunications and is currently engaged in network management research in the Telstra Research Laboratories.

Awesome

This great book can provide a lot of help to anybody having a little knowledge of linux. To begin with, this book illustrates a Linux Network administrator’s preliminary task as well as bit of complex task sequentially and in a perfect language for everybody. The book overhauls the faults of every other Network administrator guide book that I’ve read in the recent past. So it’s worth buying if want to really learn something.

Security Monitoring: An insightful read

This book made me think like an entrepreneur and a person in charge of the whole system. How many times have we encountered failed security systems and long ordeals of rectifying them? Most often, the emergency crisis and its callous impact stand as a testimony for catastrophes of failed security systems.
This book has useful information, scientific overview and protocols to detecting damaging security incidents on the global network. It teaches users to assess events that require close monitoring. It then delves into the methods to develop targeted strategies and practical techniques to protect them.
The book was especially recommended to me. It is authored by Chris Fry, security investigator for Cisco Systems Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) and Martin Nystrom; Member of Technical Staff (MTS). The illustrious author background and high recommendation was reason enough for me to go ahead with the purchase. I am thinking of gifting it to my supervisor and this will go as a gift from the whole bunch of us. The book makes an ideal gift at the corporate level and is a must have in any organization.
